If I Knew Then What I Know Now
For this project, I was tasked to give three pieces of advice to a first year student about being a Graphic Design and/or Illustration student. This advice was to be based on the experiences that I have had over the three years that I have been studying at university.
I was told to include the phrase ‘If I Knew Then What I Know Now’ as a starting point and I created three poster designs.
Independent Project: Survivors
For this project, I was tasked to identify a problem and to create a solution to the issue at hand using my skills as a Graphic Designer. I decided to look into spiking and self-defence as it is a massive problem in the UK.
I created a brand that has products that help towards protecting people from being spiked and/or assaulted. One of the products includes a nail varnish that changes the nail colour to black if dipped into a spiked drink. Here are the results from this project.
Competiton: World of Warcraft
For this project, I was tasked to find a competition and follow the brief of the competition that I had chosen. I found a character art contest for World of Warcraft.
The required elements for this included aspects such as creating a creature or character that can have any type of clothing, armour, weapons, and accessories. I decided to make a character that isn’t as conventional as other character designs.
Horror Poster: Scream
For this project, I was tasked to create a design based on the alphabet and originally, it was for an alphabet book, but we were told to adapt the designs.
I decided that I wanted my design to be based on a horror film as I love watching horror films and wanted to experiment with illustrating in darker shades of colours. I chose the letter ‘S’ as I wanted to create a poster based on the film ‘Scream’. I used Procreate, Illustrator, and Photoshop to create this poster.
